How do I choose the right SPF level for my skin?Updated a year ago

Selecting the right SPF depends on your skin type, the amount of time you spend outdoors, and the intensity of the sun exposure. Here’s how to choose the right SPF level for your needs:

  • Daily Use: For most people, an SPF 15 is sufficient for everyday activities when you’re primarily indoors or only outside for short periods. Rodial's SPF 15 products offer reliable protection for daily use, helping to prevent the initial stages of UV damage while also providing added skincare benefits.

  • Extended Outdoor Activities: If you plan to be outside for extended periods, such as during outdoor sports or at the beach, opt for a higher SPF, such as SPF 30 or SPF 50. These higher levels offer more significant protection against UVB rays, which are more intense and can cause more immediate damage like sunburn.

  • Skin Sensitivity and Conditions: If you have sensitive skin, a higher SPF may be beneficial, even for daily use. Additionally, if you have conditions like hyperpigmentation or are using products that increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun (such as retinoids or certain acne treatments), a higher SPF is advisable.

  • Broad-Spectrum Protection: Always choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. This ensures comprehensive protection, reducing the risk of both sunburn and long-term skin damage.
